Hi, my name
is Gail Hancock and I am the bear artist behind 'Bear With Me
Enterprises,' which is located in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada.
I have been making collector
teddy bears since 1996 and all my creations are made, for the most part,
using mohair, acrylic and natural fur from gently worn fur coats. I take a
great deal of pride in my work so only the best of materials is used with
the utmost attention paid to detail.
My bears
have won many awards including Best of the Show and an Ace award. They have
as well appeared in the book” Bears Across Canada” as well as the American
magazines Teddy Bear Review and Teddy Bear and Friends. Each year since 2002
one of my bears has also been featured in the Toronto Children’s Aid
Foundation calendar.
Some of my other interests
include quilting, sewing, bowling, walking, traveling and spending time with
my family at the cottage. I have been married to my high school
sweetheart for 48 years and we are parents to a son and daughter as well as
grandparents to four grand-daughters. Our Maltese 'Billy' completes the
family.
All bears are designed for the
collector and as such are not suitable for children because of small parts.
